I’ve tried to use your plug-in to import an old html website below a new WordPress website. I can see a lot of files have moved to the processed folder although I only see 2 files in the WordPress backend HTML Files. When I open the first html page in the backend and then try View Html File I just get a 404 page not found page appearing. What am I missing?

First thing to try, go to settings/permalinks and hit save, this re-register permalinks and then check if you go to the html posts

I’ve resaved them and the page that has converted does appear now. Randomly that page isn’t the main index.html file but a page from much further down in the old website structure. The main index.html file and a lot of sub-folders have moved to the html_files/processed folder but don’t appear in the backend Html Files list. There are a load of images and pdf files in those folders. Do I need to delete those files first so they aren’t processed by your converter? The only other html file converted just contains gobbledy-gook so I’m thinking that may be an attempt to convert a pdf file.

the plugin isn’t specifically designed to import existing websites as such, it is designed to load html pages as post content when a data source is html only. So it doesn’t try and do anything with images.

I’ll try just doing a few files at a time. Thanks for your help and the plug-in!

After a few unsuccessful attempts at copying the old html files one by one into the unprocessed folder and them not appearing in the WordPress admin panel html files I gave up I’m afraid. I ended up copying the whole html website into a folder in uploads and using a link to point to the index.html file in that folder which worked fine and all the pages with relative links to that index page also worked. Thought I had tried that in the first place but must have had the path to the uploads folder wrong. Thanks for your help.
