What message you are getting in update tab? Is it showing “Update completed.”
Do you use any caching plugin? Do you use any persistence caching system/plugin?
Do you use any plugin which combine all js files and load in every page?

It brings back to this page even after deactivating/reactivating the plugin. Deactivation is possible only after removing the plugin files since it won’t let me go to any other page. No matter what I click in the Admin, it keeps me here only.

From 4.8. A few messages only. Waited long enough and repeatedly.

I did a fresh installation and that seems to have sorted the issue.
However, the last character of the From name is getting cut off in the notification emails. For example if the sender full name is “Coop Manager” the notification email shows only “Coop Manage”. The “r” is cut off.

Can you please change From name to something else eg. “ABCDEF” and see if last character cut off.
Not using any SMTP plugin. Plus the From name is different in each sub-site of a multisite. It is same on all, the last character getting stripped off. Thanks.

The last character has been stripped.
The from name ABCDEF is coming from Site Title under General Settings.
Also tried in totally different multisites, same result.

Please go to Dashboard > Front End PM > Settings > Emails
and Fill Up From Name and click Save Changes ( Do this if already filled up also ).
