It is not possible to configure the sharing settings for “Share a view-only version of your Site Kit dashboard with other WordPress roles.”

I’m experiencing this bug on all the sites I manage.
Google Site Kit is currently at version 1.175.0

The bug occurs when I try to configure access view settings

Hi @lalbertini, thanks for opening a support topic with us. I am sorry to hear that you’re facing trouble with setting up dashboard sharing on your site.

I will help you with this so that we can get this resolved. To start, please could you share the following information:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Any console errors you see when this happens.
    3. Does the same occur from an Incognito window?
    4. Do you see the same happen when following the troubleshooting steps here?

Once you have shared the information, I can review everything and let you know if I require anything else from you or if any further troubleshooting steps need to be taken.

@lalbertini Thank you for sharing the information. I can see from your site health that you have the WPS Hide Login plugin active on your site. Are you actively using this to change your wp-admin path? And if you reset your settings on this or manually disable the plugin, do you still see the same issue?

Could you also try using another admin account on the site to try and set dashboard sharing settings to see if the same happens with this user?

Let me know how you get on with the two suggestions above and we can continue to troubleshoot should we need to.

Yes, the problem still persists without this plugin. And yes, i am using it to change the wp-admin path.
In fact, I did use the plugin Troubleshooting prior to this additional test, which also disables WPS Hide Login.

I should note that this bug occurs when attempting to set up sharing rights and permissions in the dashboard, and that this interface is buggy (unable to apply settings)

I tried with a new admin user, but because I can’t switch the “Who can manage view access” setting to “Any administrator logged in with Google”—which is set to “Only me” by default—the new admin user can’t manage the view.
Google Site Kit prompts them to contact the primary admin.

@lalbertini Thanks for the additional insights. That is all understood thank you.

Please could you next try performing a Site Kit reset. After you have reset Site Kit, set up the plugin once more. After setting it up, please attempt again to set the dashboard sharing settings. Let e mknow if you encounter the same problem.

If you do encounter the issue still we can try testing this on a test site to see if the same happens which may help to indicate if the issue is at host/server level. To do this, please go to this URL which will create a test site for you with Site Kit pre-installed. Set up Site Kit on this site and ensure you have some other users added to the site i.e. editors, authors etc. and try the dashboard sharing settings on this site.

Thanks for your continued cooperation with this and hopefully we can get this resolved for you as soon as possible.

@lalbertini I hope you’re getting on well with the troubleshooting. Something else that would be very helpful to us would be your console log as well as a recording of this happening.

If possible, please could you capture this happening on your screen and share via the private form? Could you also share your console log. To do this follow the steps below:

    1. Replicate the issue on your screen
    2. Open the console log
    3. Right-click in the console and select “Save as” option
    4. Save the log and share it via the private form

I appreciate your help with this and these will help us greatly to see what may be causing this. Let me know if you have any questions.

    (@lalbertini)

Adam, after resetting the Site Kit settings, I was able to set up the sharing options.
    Thanks for your help.

So I’m no longer able to provide you with the logs you requested, but just know that I’ve run into this problem quite often (and I get the impression I’m not the only one, judging by the posts in the forum).

Thanks again, and have a great day!

@lalbertini That’s great news, happy to hear that resolved the issue for you.

No problem at all, thanks and hope you have a good day too!
