Translation file in json vs php

    Hi!

    I was trying to translate the “search” string for my table. I installed the Change datatable strings plugin and followed the instruction on the page (https://tablepress.org/extensions/change-datatables-strings/)

    It wasn’t working because that page explain to copy the .php from the folder  “tablepress/i18n/datatables/” to the “tablepress-change-datatables-strings” folder. But the Change datatable strings uses a .json file.

    So I add to translate the us the en_US .json file myself and it’s working now.

    It would be helpful for others to update the page to give the correct information. And thanks for TablePress!

    Hi,

    ah, nice catch! Yes, I need to update that Extension and the code!

    TablePress started with *.json files for these translation, but I also added support for *.php files in TablePress 2.0 (it can be a little bit faster).

    Hi,

    quick update: I just released version 1.3 of the Extension on https://tablepress.org/extensions/change-datatables-strings/ which now contains the PHP file support.

    Thanks for the quick update! It seems that the new zip file isn’t available yet (or a cache issue). When I download it, it’s still 1.2 in the header part of the php file.

    Hi,

    for me, it’s returning the new version 1.3. So, yes, caching sounds possible here. Can you maybe try again in a private/incognito browsing tab?
