I did a fresh install of the latest WordPress and installed Elementor plugin and Elementor Hello theme. No other plugins are active. When I ‘Edit with Elementor’ for a page the top Elementor admin bar is missing so I can’t Publish the changes to a page. I’ve tried every possible solution I could find online and even talked to web host support several times but to no avail. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I can’t develop my client’s new website.

    Hi @deuce25,

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing. I understand how blocking this can be when you’re trying to build your client’s website.

Since this is happening on a fresh installation of WordPress with only Elementor and the Hello theme active, the Elementor top panel should normally appear when editing a page.

To help us narrow down the cause, could you please try the following checks?

    1. Check WordPress Screen Options
While editing the page in Elementor, please press Ctrl + Shift + I (or right-click → Inspect) and check if there are any console errors in the browser.
    2. Switch Browsers / Disable Extensions
Sometimes browser extensions (especially ad blockers or script blockers) can hide interface elements. Please try:
      • Opening the site in a different browser
      • Using an incognito/private window
      • Temporarily disabling browser extensions
    3. Regenerate Elementor Files
Go to WP Dashboard → Elementor → Tools → General and click:
      • Regenerate CSS & Data
      • Sync Library
    4. Check the WordPress Admin Bar Setting
Please go to Users → Profile and ensure “Show Toolbar when viewing site” is enabled.

If the issue persists, could you please share the following so we can investigate further?

    • The URL of the site
    • A short screen recording showing the issue

Once I have that information, I’ll be happy to take a closer look and help get the Elementor editor working so you can continue building the site.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Kind regards,

    Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us again.

This can happen due to Firewall or Modsecurity rules set in the server. So, I suggest checking this with your hosting provider and asking them to temporarily turn off Modsecurity and Firewall to check if it solves the issue.

Also, the issue can be related to your .htacces file or files permission, so plese, as I mentioned above, contact you hosting provider and ask them to check this issue for you.

Plese let me know how did it go.

I am looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

    Kind regards,

My problem was the same. I purged/deleted the Nginx Cache and the problem the problem has been resolved. The top bar came back.

It ended up being the host’s Modsecurity settings.
