Time Dropdown Placeholder
-
Hey there,
is it possible that there is no Placeholder Field for Time Selection Dropdown Fields?
I did not find a solution to change “select” to a different language.
In all other dropdowns I could do it by changing the placeholder.
Am I missing something or is this not possible?
Thanks and best regards

Hi @datsyuk ,
I hope you’re doing well.
I understand that you’re trying to add it for the time selection (hours and minutes), you should be able to select a placeholder by clicking on the Hours/minutes area as shown here – https://monosnap.com/file/3nJVHByA8Ja5iyPPQWoUGgoYlyJtTL
For the date picker, you should also have the option for a placeholder.
I hope this helps and please let us know if you need further help.
Best regards,
Williams ValerioHello,
thanks for your quick reply.
these fields only appear, when I select “Number inputs”, when I switch to “Dropdowns” the fields disappear:

I’m running Forminator Version 1.37.1

JörgHello @datsyuk
Hope you’re doing well today!
What you noticed with the dropdown field is an expected behaviour when Timepicker >> Dropdown option is selected. Since the dropdown field shows the predefined list of time in hours and minutes it doesn’t have a placeholder or a label (similar to a normal dropdown field) as those are the predefined “time options” in the dropdown. Technically, the “Select” you notice on the timepicker field can be treated as a first “empty” option in the dropdown.
In the past, we had reports of it causing confusion and being redundant hence, it was removed after the release of Forminator v1.24.
In case you wish to translate that, which will need to be done programmatically, which I am afraid will be out of our support scope. For that, you’ll need to hire a developer to provide the required custom code for you. WordPress provides a jobs directory here https://jobs.wordpress.net/

SaurabhHello Saurabh,
Thank you for your response and explanation.
I still find it very confusing that all dropdowns allow for a custom preselection except for the time dropdown. I also don’t understand why this might have caused issues in the past, as the “Select” option cannot be chosen anyway.
Of course, I can translate the plugin using Loco Translate or similar tools, but I believe Forminator should provide an onboard solution for this.Thank you very much, and best regards,
JörgHi @datsyuk,
Of course, I can translate the plugin using Loco Translate or similar tools, but I believe Forminator should provide an onboard solution for this.
We do understand you and have passed your feedback to our teams attention to check if there are any further improvements that could be considered down the roadmap.

Hello @datsyuk,
I hope you’re doing great today!
We have forwarded your feedback to the plugin developers, in order for them to consider further improvements.
I’ll be marking this thread as resolved for now. Please don’t hesitate to reply, in case you have any questions.
Best Regards,
DmytroHey there,
is there still no solution to that issue?
Maybe in the Pro Version? Or any Code Snippet available?
I mean Time Selection using dropdowns is the only way I can force clients to select time intervals (like every 30 minutes) but it ruins the design of my whole form that the label of all Dropdows (like “Date”) are translated to Geman, but the time still shows “Select”.
Hope there is a solution.
Thanks and best regards

Hi @datsyuk,
I am afraid, Forminator, both the free and pro versions, does not support this as we noticed this causing confusion. As we already mentioned, we have shared your feedback with the Forminator team to see if we can bring any further improvements regarding this.
Unfortunately, providing custom code is beyond the scope of the support we can offer. You may need to hire a developer to create the required custom code. WordPress offers a jobs directory at https://jobs.wordpress.net/. If you need further guidance, feel free to email wpsupport@incsub.com, using the following subject line.
