Sub Site User Registration… almost

I am testing out you plugin ( I was using theme my login, but I have now disabled that ).
I was looking for the behavior that when a user navigates to to a subsite ( subdomain ) and clicks Register that all happens within the subsite – for the most part this works, but once I activate the new account and click login I guest sent to the parent site and this message
You attempted to access the “domain home” dashboard, but you do not currently have privileges on this site. If you believe you should be able to access the “domain home” dashboard, please contact your network administrator.

Ideally I want the user send to the subdomain they registered for.
Similar thing with the password reset – I don’t want to sent the user out to the parent site.
Is this possible?
