Hi there, I keep getting a bunch of spam accounts that are somehow registering new accounts as Customers on my WooCommerce store.

Each day i log into my website, and when i go to Users, i see a bunch of random spam accounts that have registered on my WooCommerce store as customers, even though they have not bought anything.

    How do I prevent this?

    Thanks

Hi thanks for your reply, but i do not want to turn off customer registration. In WooCommerce, a customer can register during checkout, but only after they make the payment does it register them as a customer, so i don’t know how these spammers are registering on my site as customers when they haven’t bought anything. Any ideas?

    Hi @verycherry

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand your concern about the spam accounts registering as customers on your WooCommerce store.

To prevent spam registrations, you may want to consider implementing some form of user verification. This can be done using CAPTCHA, which is a system that’s used to determine whether or not the user is human. This can greatly reduce the number of spam registrations on your site.

We have a plugin called WooCommerce Google reCaptcha that adds Google reCaptcha to your login, registration, product review, lost password and reset password forms. This can help ensure that these actions are being performed by a human and not an automated bot.

In addition, you might want to consider using WooCommerce Anti-Fraud plugin. It’s designed to help you pick up fraudulent transactions and catch them as they happen by scanning and scoring each transaction.

Furthermore, kindly be informed that if you want to try our products, it comes with a 30-day refund policy. If the product doesn’t work the way you need it or you think another product would work better, we are more than happy to offer a full refund. You can read more about our refund policy on our website here.

    Hope this helps!
