[Solved] WordPress Update : Installation failed

I went to update WordPress and got the message that the installation failed.

It’s rare that I get this message so I knew it had nothing to do with permissions. Just in case, I checked them, they were fine at 755.

At some point in the past I found out the issue was with respect to space on the server, so I looked—starting in the root directory—for any file I could delete.

I deleted an 11meg error file.

The WordPress update worked.
