Sitemap.xml Contains Errors

    Hi, the sitemap is not opening correctly. It shows this error message

    This page contains the following errors:
error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    I have already excluded it from cache as recommended here.

    Hi,

    if you look at the source code of your xml sitemap you will see 1 blank line.

    That’s the issue.

    This is probably due to a bad opening / closing PHP tag <?php

    Check your wp-config.php, header.php of your theme… to see if there is something wrong.

    Thanks for replying. I do not see such issue happening. Is there any thing else that could be causing this?

    Try to switch to the default WP theme (TwentyTwentyThree).

    Try also to disable all plugins except SEOPress and reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.
