+1
for all type of sitemap (page, post, etc…) always “0 indexed”, but pages are indexed by google… strange
Hello @dswebnew
The list in Rank Math > Search Console > Sitemaps should always show the list of you sitemaps, it should not be empty. Please navigate to Rank Math > General Settings > Search Console and click on Deauthorize, save it, and then authorize again, and save the settings once again.
We will look into this issue and see if it could be reproduced, in which case it shall be fixed a future update.
If there’s any sitemap error or warning occurring, you can check the details in your Search Console account, in the Sitemaps report. We cannot show the detailed error messages in Rank Math because the Search Console sitemaps API is rather limited and it only provides the number, without any details.
The numbers of indexed resources are also coming from the Search Console sitemaps API, and from our experiences it does not always reflect the real number of indexed pages and images.
Hope that helps.
Hello,
Thanks for your answer.
At this moment, sitemaps are present in Rank Math “search console”. I will apply your advice of Deauthorizing connetion to google when they will disappear …
Concerning indexation reported, it’s not really important as long as I can consult the search console in google.
I’ll be back to give you informations if sitemaps disappear again.
Thanks.
I am also getting a sitemap error on Search Console – specifically on the page sitemap (post sitemap is OK). Our metadata are also not showing on search results – possibly related? thank you for any thought about this. The website where this error appears is https://petkareclinic.com. Thanks!
Why is this tab needed then if it does not accurately display indexing data?
Hi @sackerly
What is the exact error you are getting for the page sitemap?
I can see that the XML sitemap on your site has been generated by something else, not by Rank Math. Have you switched to another sitemap solution? And did that resolve the error?
Can you tell us what kind of meta data is not showing in the search results? By the way, this is most probably unrelated to the sitemap issue.
@dswebnew Unfortunately Google doesn’t give accurate numbers of the indexed data in any form (the only way to know that is to use the search) but in most cases the numbers here can give a good estimate to the users. This tab also shows the sitemaps submitted to the Search Console, and the users can see if there are any warnings or errors without having to look at the Search Console report.
Hi @dswebnew, thanks for these questions. Eventually Google rescanned the sitemap, and all errors cleared. I think that the errors were related to an earlier permutation of the sitemap, perhaps generated by Yoast (?). At any rate, all is well with the sitemap issue. I will start a new thread with the metadata issue. Thanks tons!
Hello @sackerly
Sure. Please feel free to open a separate topic and we would be more than happy to assist.
Thank you.
