• Hi there,

My sidebar widgets recently started showing up in the footer of my posts instead of the sidebar (I included a link to one post so you can see what I am talking about). This seems to be consistent across all posts, but pages are unaffected. I’ve been trying to troubleshoot but can’t figure out what is wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Went and looked at that page with Firefox 149 in Windows and when first viewing the page, I see the sidebar on the right side. Probably what you would expect to see. If I shrink my browser window below 990 pixels wide (normally have it 1370 pixels wide), it moves the sidebar down below the content.

So, it seems the way the theme/post is laid out it’s causing the sidebar to shift down if the viewport gets too narrow. Perhaps a min-width setting somewhere is causing it.

How to fix? Not sure. Just letting you know what I see.

Which widgets are you referring to exactly? Even at high resolutions, I can see the “Latest on Instagram” section in the footer. Are you talking only about that one, or also about the others that I can normally see in the sidebar?

Otherwise, I would agree with @markrh that the sidebar simply moves down on smaller resolutions. This is likely a setting in your theme to ensure all content is visible even on smaller screens. If you have questions about this, I’d recommend contacting the support team for the theme you’re using, since they’re responsible for the front-end display: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/kale/

Hi @markrh and @threadi, thanks for your replies. The sidebar should include “Meet Ashley,” “Get Social,” “Subscribe to Olive + Wisteria,” and the Instagram widgets. There is also a “Latest on Instagram” widget in the footer, but that is distinct from the sidebar Instagram widget.

It’s weird because this glitch started happening to me recently even on my larger screens, which previously hadn’t been an issue, and I can’t pinpoint any change that would have caused this. I’ll try reaching out to my theme’s support team to troubleshoot.

    Thanks for the suggestions!
