    Hello,

We just created Abandoned cart email for which we used the shortcode with a default value as below,

    [subscriber:firstname | default:subscriber]

Although the subscriber who received this email had his firstname in the list, the email was sent with the default value “subscriber”.

Please help me resolve this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

Having the same problem on regular newsletters. The same shortcode [subscriber:firstname | default:reader] is used on the subject line and the newsletter body. The subject line is using the default value (even when the queued newsletter shows the proper shortcode). After submission, the subject line changes to show just the default value.

The same thing happens if I edit an already scheduled email (it changes the subject line to the default value).

This is a new behaviour, have been using MailPoet for a while now, problems started a few weeks ago.

    Hi @scody and @gnrocha,

This was a known issue and has been fixed on MailPoet version 3.56.

You just need to UPDATE the plugin and everything should be working as expected again.

    Thanks!
