    Hi

    When I try adding text to the Short description field in Product I get the error “The excerpt field cannot contain more than 0 words.” when I Update.
    The error doesn’t pop up when the field stay empty.

    We have checked the issue on our end, and everything appears to be working correctly (please see the screenshot).

    This behavior might be caused by a plugin or theme conflict. Could you please try temporarily switching to a default theme to see if the issue persists? Additionally, please temporarily disable all plugins except FluentCart and check whether the problem is resolved.

    I have found the cause.
    The error disappears when I deactivate the Generatepress plugin “GP Premium”.
    Not so good, as this plugin is necessary.

    Hi there,

    FluentCart products are registered as a custom post type, and the Short Description field is actually the standard WordPress post excerpt. The excerpt length limit is controlled by the active theme (or sometimes a theme-related plugin), not by FluentCart.

    For example:

    • Astra typically sets the excerpt limit to 20 words.
    • Kadence sets it to around 55 words.

    Since this behavior is coming from GP Premium, we recommend reaching out to their support team.

    OK, thanks…

    That was exactly what was needed.
    Excerpt length was set to 0, and after I changed it to e.g. 100 the error disappeared.
