• On or about the first of Aug 2023 one of my most important membership sites was hacked. It was hosted on a high-end (read very expensive) hosting service that promised solid security which turned out to be a joke. I was disappointed the hack happened in the first place but the follow-up support was inconsistent and the recommendations of different support personnel I spoke with were actually conflicting.

I made the drastic move to a different host and began rebuilding. At about this time, I found Hide My WP Ghost. To my surprise, the WP Ghost plugin has been tested and used on the new hosting service – but it gets better – support at the new hosting service also gives unanimous thumbs up for WP Ghost.

One of my biggest concerns about using WP Ghost was potentially locking out hundreds of members in the name of better security. Not the case. The redirection of default WordPress paths and the complete ghosting of all things “WordPress” in Ghost Mode is genius and one click simple to setup.

Important to add – easy to use and newbie friendly and it is a “Squirrly” product (as in SquirrlySEO) so support is very good.
