    Hi,
I have a wordpress site with Wordfence installed. I just upgraded to the latest version of Wordfence (Version 7.5.6). Then, on the Wordfence Scan page, the “Start New Scan” button was not clickable and I saw this message on the page:
“Scan Failed The scan has failed to start. This is often because the site either cannot make outbound requests or is blocked from connecting to itself. Click here for steps you can try.”
I clicked on the link and tried all of the steps. It was still not working.

Then, I clicked the “Close” button next to the Scan Failed message. Now, I can click “Start New Scan”. After the scan completes, I see a “Server State” Warning.

What is a “Server State” warning and how do I fix it?

    Please help!

    Thanks!!

Hi @donc01, thanks for your question.

I assume the server state warning you speak of is highlighted with the yellow triangle icon? Scan stages are explained here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/#scan-stages

    Server State

Scan for unauthorized DNS changes (discontinued)
    Monitor disk space
Scan for misconfigured How does Wordfence get IPs
PHP Version Check (Can not be disabled)
    Check Web Application Firewall status
Check for paths that are not scanned by default

There may have been an issue during the checking of one of these criteria. You can check the accompanying scan results here:

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/scan-results/

Let me know what you find out, and I’ll be happy to assist if you’re unable to resolve the exact issue that’s coming up.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
