Never heard anything back from the contact form I submitted through your website?

@lsare10 I’ve deleted your duplicate topic that you’ve just posted. While the author may or may not have replied on their site, they are not allowed to support their customers here.

I’m sorry, but please continue to contact them via the link they provided. This is not the place to support your order with them.

I am sure @noor-e-alam will reply shortly.

…they are not allowed to support their customers on the support tab here? That seems odd…either way, I have contacted @noor-e-alam through his website three times now with no response so was just trying to expand my options.

…they are not allowed to support their customers on the support tab here?

That is correct. They can support the users of their free plugin here.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/amazing-hover-effects/

But when there is any problem with their commercial offering (paid) then they can’t support that here. Letting them do that here would be unfair to other plugin authors. An author who does here will get into real trouble and risk getting their plugin pulled from these repo here.

GOTCHA. Did not know that, thank you. Just so I have a better understanding (and I am not being snarky or sarcastic I promise!!!!!) how is supporting paid versions of a plugin on the WordPress forums unfair to other free plugin providers? Not trying to be combative AT ALL just so I understand better. Thanks Jan, I appreciate the feedback sir.

I get it, and I don’t think you’re being combative at all. It’s cool to ask questions. πŸ˜‰

how is supporting paid versions of a plugin on the WordPress forums unfair to other free plugin providers?

Because no plugin or theme author is permitted to do that here in these forums. Letting support in this topic for your paid offering would be an exception and that’s the part that would be unfair.

Of course this has happened and the exchange wasn’t caught. But when it’s found (everything here gets looked at eventually) then the author gets a polite shoulder tap asking them to stop.

If they don’t stop, the next tap may be applied with a brick*. If it keeps happening then that author could get their code removed from the repository here.

*NOTE: Styrofoam bricks of course. We’re really harmless volunteers. πŸ˜‰
