• Hi!

I started out wrong and messed up a few things, so I’d like to start over with the 2025 theme. Is there a simple way to just reset the theme to default?

  • Hey @lensv,

The only parts of the theme that can be reset are the templates and global styles.

    1. Templates
On your dashboard, head to Appearance > Editor > Templates.
Click the three dots on each template and then reset.
    2. Global Style
On your dashboard, head to Appearance > Editor.
Click into the canvas area, then click the styles icon (half moon icon).
Click the three dots and the reset styles.

    Regards,

    Thanks Erick!

It’s mainly the default header & footer that I (somehow) have made disappear. Resetting templates or styles don’t seem to get them back. Is there another trick?

    Hey @lensv,

What do you mean disappeared? Are the header and footer not showing on all you pages?

If it’s just the header and footer that need to be reset, then simply follow these steps:

    • On your dashboard, head to Appearance > Editor > Patterns.
    • Click the header template part and then click through each header to edit .
    • On the right side of the screen, in the open settings. Click the three-dot button under the Template part option, then click reset.
    • Follow steps 2 and 3 for the footer template part.

If the issue is bigger than resetting the header and footer. Provide detailed additional information, to allow me to assist you further.

    Hope this helps.

    thanks again!

I’ll give it a try (when I ’m back at the computer) and I’ll get back here with more information if I’m unsuccessful.

    Alright!

    I got em back 🙂

I have created a new clean header (and footer) now, under Patterns. Where do make the choice to use them, instead of the default ones?

just to clarify… I have a header and a footer now that I want to use on my main page, but I don’t know how to point them out (?)

I apologize for the late reply.

The best way to apply headers and footers is by editing the page templates. This way, any page using the template will have the header and footer you want.

Since you mentioned you want to use the header and footer on your main page. The screenshot below illustrates how to identify the template a page is using.

    • After identifying the template, head over to Appearance > Editor > Templates.
    • Select the template you identified to edit, and click the block inserter button + (1).
    • Search template part (2) and drag (3) the header or footer you created.
    • If the block is in the wrong position, use the drag (4) or the up and down (5) buttons to move it to the correct position.
    • Save the changes.

The main page will now have the header and footer your want.

    Hope this help.
