Hello – I have MailPoet3 all set up and running, with a drip-campaign too. I am going to import a website template. This will overwrite all of my plugins, including MailPoet. My question is – is there way to backup and reinstall the plugin with all of my data and settings (including welcome emails, etc)?

    Thanks!

I am finding now some information in the forum boards (sorry!) It seems I can manually “delete” the plugin, then import my website template, then reinstall MailPoet? All of my data, emails, etc will still be there. Is that correct?

Before you do anything, back up your website. I use GoDaddy and they have a mechanism to do this.
I don’t know what your template is or what it does when you install it but my understanding with other WordPress themes and plugins: Simply deactivate the MailPoet plugin, then import the template and reactivate MailPoet.

I’m using a template from Envato market. I’m probably way in over my head doing it like this! When I import it (I have already tested it on a dummy site) it will delete all my plugins and replace with its own. So can I deactivate MP, then it will be deleted, and then reinstall and reactivate? Keeping my data?

    Hi there @caroldoyleplikk,

    Thanks for reaching out!

As @bernwoz suggested, we also highly recommend creating a backup of your site before making such changes.

I’m not sure what your import will involve, but all MailPoet data and settings are stored in the database. If your import won’t affect your database, your data will be there even if you reactivate the plugin.

    Cheers!
