🔧 Technical flow:
– The plugin lists available media folders by year (based on wp-content/uploads structure)
– Upon selection, it scans all images in the chosen folder (JPG, PNG, etc.)
– Conversion is triggered via a form submit, activating a PHP-based batch processor
– Each batch is limited by execution time (default: 12 seconds) to avoid server overload
– Converted WebP files are saved alongside originals, preserving compatibility
– A visual loader and toast notification provide frontend feedback

🆕 Version 1.2.3 removes the hardcoded 150-image limit and introduces time-based control, allowing safer execution on larger folders.

No external libraries or APIs are required. The plugin uses native PHP functions and WordPress hooks for compatibility and performance.
