    Hello rask44,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.

I understand you’re setting up a new version of your store on a test domain and trying to connect payments configured on the current store. Despite adding the new domain as per the documentation, payments aren’t working, and you’re seeing the error: “Error Could not process the account (wcpay_could_not_process_account).”

Could you tell me how you added the new domain?
Also, share new domain and old domain names.

Please share screenshots of what you see when accessing WooPayments on your new site to help diagnose the issue further.

Looking forward to your response. 🙂

    Hi,

    Thank you for your response.
The production domain of the store is https://shop.dailyartmagazine.com/. Currently, we are creating a new version here: https://dam-shop.idve.pl, where we are trying to connect the payments.

Here are the screenshots of the connection process:

    Hello rask44,

    Thank you for your reply.

If you want to test WooPayments on the staging site I recommend enabling the Sandbox Mode.
For more detailed guidance, please check this documentation: WooPayments: Sandbox Mode.

Please let me know if you face any issues with the steps.
I am here for your help.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I don’t see an option to enable sandbox mode. This is the screen I have https://snipboard.io/B4vU7n.jpg. I clicked ‘Reset Account,’ but it didn’t help.

    Hello rask44,

    Thank you for your reply.

When you set up WooPayments on your staging site you should see this button.
If you are not seeing this button you may have chosen the live mode.
In that case, I suggest creating the staging site again and then start the WooPayments set up with Sandbox mode.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

Thank you for the message. Unfortunately, we have a lot of content filled in the staging version and we cannot restart it. Is there any option to run payments in the production version on the staging domain?

    Hello @rask44,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand that restarting the staging site is not an option due to the content already in place.

To run payments on the staging domain while using the production account, you can enable Live Mode on the staging site, but only if you’re ready to process real transactions. Since you’re using the same production account for both the production and staging domains, the payment gateway should work as expected.

However, please note that using Live Mode on a staging domain could result in real payments being processed, which may not be ideal during testing. To avoid this, you can use a testing environment to verify payments without actual transactions (by manually triggering test transactions through the WooCommerce admin or Stripe’s test credentials).

If you wish to keep testing with real transactions, you may need to ensure that the domain is properly connected, and make sure any necessary security checks (SSL, API keys) are in place.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I understand what the risks are, but I still want to enable live mode on the staging domain. As I mentioned earlier, I am having trouble with this and am seeking information on how to do it. How can I run production operations on a new domain?

    Hi @rask44,

If I understand correctly, you’re looking for guidance on how to turn your staging site into a production site. If that’s the case, you can follow the instructions provided here: https://woocommerce.com/document/woopayments/startup-guide/.

Additionally, it’s important to note that using the same Stripe account for multiple businesses is not recommended. As mentioned in Stripe’s documentation (https://docs.stripe.com/get-started/account/multiple-accounts), each website or business should have its own Stripe account.

If your live site and the staging site you want to set live are using the same Stripe account, this could be causing the issue.

Have you tried using a different Stripe account for the staging site, separate from the one on the live site?
