Hello, first of all, congratulations on the great plugin, it really makes my life easier. I am facing an issue that I think that its a bug. Sorry for the long post.

Resuming in a single sentence: I think postie handles posts different if they are automatically checked then when it is manually run with the ´´process email´´ or debug button. Why do i think that? Keep reading.

I am developing an intranet for my company.

I am trying to integrate Postie and “Email Subscribers” plugin (it should notify users by email immediately every time a new post is posted) I set up everything apparently fine and tested it creating a post directly on WP back end. It worked perfectly and the “ES” report showed sent email and recipients got their notification.

The weird part comes now. Once I created a new post using Postie “check for emails every 10 minutes”, and 10 minutes later the post was automatically posted but got no notification at all from “ES”, I even checked the report and it didn’t even attempted to send an email. At this point, I was upset that “ES” didn’t work with post at all.

But for my surprise I made a new test, sent an email to postie and before the time ran out, I clicked Process Email, and then, the “ES” report showed sent notification.

So, If I click either process email or debug button, ES recognizes that a new post is being posted. If its posted automatically from the recurrent mail checks from postie, it does not. I am not a programmer, but I think that may be missing a final command on postie auto fetch that is present on postie debug and postie process email.

    Could you understand that?

    Thank you for your patience.

    Thanks for the detailed information.

I tested this on my site and everything seemed to work perfectly.
    * tested by manually creating a post – worked
    * tested by clicking Process Email – worked
    * tested by waiting for the Postie check – worked

Not sure where you should go from here. You might try disabling all other plugs except Postie and Email Subscribers.

Wow Allen, thanks for the very quick response.

Well, if it is working for you, I’ll have to figure it out then. It seemed so clear.
    Back tô testing.

    Regards

    Hai gcacciola,

I had the same problem, also with the combination of Postie and Email Subscribers.
Before I updated WordPress to the latest version (4.7.2) everything was working fine.
I have been working on this for several days, testing all different kinds of settings, versions of the 2 plugins. No luck.
Until today. I found out another plugin caused the probleym (Ryo category visibility)
After switching this plugin off everythins is working again.
Fot the Ryo plugin I found a good alternative. (Ultimate Category Excluder)
