• Terrible support , their feedback only promotes with an affiliate link codeable.

The decline in all its glory..!

They will destroy what they have managed to do all of this years..

    Hi Andreas

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with our support team – I’m confident that they tried their best, but perhaps misunderstood how to best help your specific question.

Would you like for me (the lead developer) to give it a go? Please let me know the support ticket ID so I may tag myself in.

In regards to the CSS/JS issue, I’m very interested to hear more about your thoughts on this. Is this regarding the large amounts of inline “template scripts” that the WordPress tinymce editor / media library generates? If so, I’m not sure this will be something that we can solve from our end.

    Cheers
    Elliot

    Hallo Elliot ,

Thank you for your reply ,

I can understand the weight of support specially for this kind of plugin but i believe things can be better. In my 2 two years experience with ACFi have created 3 tickets with two different accounts.

Thank you for asking to help but i have figured out by myself and in some cases from other members in the forum.

But i must say that the support was most of the times , answering back with some kind of ” check this documentation ” or this issue of other plugins etc. No was never issue from other plugins and the documentation imo is poor for something more extreme, for the basics is fine.

As i said this plugin is a must have and is one of the heroes of WP.

As for the JS/CSS as i remember Acf will enqueu scripts and styles for all field types even when not in use. No i dont have a solution for this one unfortunately.

    Have a nice day

    Hi Andreas

Thanks for the reply. I take this criticism very personally, and will be sure to use it in a constructive way to better our work.

With regards to your three support tickets, I was disappointed to see that all three were requests for code-solutions to customize a Multilingual WooCommerce site. I stand by our support team and believe they did a great job deciphering and responding to your short replies. They provided good guidance on the type of solution needed – shortcodes, actions, filters, etc.

I sensed a lot of frustration in your words, and can empathize with you on how overwhelming web development can sometimes appear. Instead of focusing that energy in a negative way, you will find more solutions by reading documentation, diving into plugin source code and better articulating the problems that you are facing.

    Thanks
    Elliot

For future readers, I would like to chime in here and say that I’ve always received great support from ACF. Even when, frankly, I was asking a question that was skirting the line of being outside the scope of support, they still helped me and Elliot even took the time to reply personally and make recommendations. They’ve additionally been investing a lot of time into improving their docs, and it shows and is appreciated.

Hi, i will update my review as lately i have used ACF a lot for some more Advanced websites i have created. And was thinking how hard it would be without ACF.

So i thought that is unfair to review a 5 star plugin with 3 stars.

I want to say that it still has room for improvement ( documentation ), maybe some more code examples for real world problems? Or some showcases etc.

Also i have to say my latest experience with support was awesome but from my second account. 😉

    Sorry for the bad English.

    Andreas

I second what @zacholas321 said. Support has been great.

Realize that this is an extremely popular plugin. So I’m sure the ticket queue is pretty gigantic on any given day. Though I may not get an instant response, it’s always reasonable. Within a couple days. The ACF team has even written custom code for me before to help with something I was trying to do.

You really should know WP and PHP fairly well to really take full advantage of it. Because of that, I would imagine a lot of support requests come from some pretty novice programmers (or less) that take a lot of time to help.

@elliotcondon – You and your team keep up the great work. This is the best plugin money can buy. Sometimes, you can’t please them all.

Hi @chomachomachoma As you see i changed my review from 3 to 4 stars as i believe the same with what you say ” the ticket queue is pretty gigantic on any given day “.

By the way i am a PHP developer as i work mostly with laravel and other popular frameworks.

My personal experience was not that good as i said with two accounts , one of them i believe will never be supported again cause i gave this star..

I realise what you said and if you see my comment i say that ACF is the Hero of WP.

    But,

I dont believe what you say ” Sometimes, you can’t please them all “.

You have paid a plugin that has support in an open source product as is WP, support makes the difference right? also is paid!@

Also i believe that product developers want to know and to have a feedback from their cliets so to be better and better.

    Friendly
