I’ve tested the plugin using your exact setup (Genesis 2.8.1, Essence Pro 1.1.0, and WP 5.0.3) and the title toggle plugin works as expected.

You aren’t the first to report this issue, but I can’t find any way to replicate it.
Can you provide a list of plugins you have installed? There may be a plugin conflict.

I’ll try disabling plugins to see what happens and let you know.
Deactivating all other plugins did not make this plugin work for me.
