Plugin for WIFI / mobile data detection?

    Hey there,

    I’m searching for a Plugin to detect if a user is on the internet via WIFI or mobile data and display specific content via shortcode.

    The problem is, that most users who don’t use WLAN won’t watch a video because their mobile data volume is limited. So I would like to show them a message with a link to a text version of that video.

    Does anyone know, if there is already such a WP Plugin out there?

    I dont things any such thing exists

    The web server just serves content and does not care how the connection was made.

    You can detect users of smartphones by the user agent string of their browsers. Other than that, there’s no way to distinguish between different ways of Internet access (ADSL/VDSL, cable, fibre, WiFi etc…) Especially since now for example I’m accessing the Internet using ADSL but before that I have two wireless (WiFi) hops. 🙂
