[Plugin: Developer Formatter] PHP Formatting problem

When using the Plugin to show PHP script the initial <?php shows as < ?PHP meaning that if someone used the script it won’t be recognized as PHP due the the space in< ?PHP.
Is there any workaround/fix to stop the space being inserted after the <?
