• I have Elementor 3.16.6 and PHP 7.2.6 – newest version of this plugin (1.2.6) breaks the website. When website is opened, there is a message from wordpress, that a critical error happend. Disabling this plugin makes the website work again. I was able to download 1.2.5 from Wayback Machine and install it manually, and everything works again.

Can you please send the error message?

Also – WordPress requires you to have php 7.4 – can you upgrade your php version?

Yes, I am aware that the PHP version is too low, we will migrate the website to a new server with newest PHP soon, and I can’t find any error message. The message is like this: https://kinsta.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/wordpress-critical-error.png

And earlier I remember that when something like this happend with a different plugin, I got an email stating what is the error and some stack traces, or more details. Here now I have not received any email with details and in the wp-admin panel I also don’t see anything anywhere with the details for it.

For now as I downgraded the version, and will soon migrate to newest PHP, this is not a critical error for us and we don’t need a fix. Just letting you know that there is an issue in this specific case.

    OK. thanks.

If you could get the error message from error log on your server – this could be actually a helpful hint.

I enabled debug mode in wp-config.php and upgraded Rife extension to 1.2.6 again, and saw this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in [PATH-TO-INSTALLATION]/wp-content/plugins/rife-elementor-extensions/includes/elementor/widgets/writing-effect-headline.php on line 256
