Hey, so I’m at a point where I’m about “intermediate” in javascript and in php, and I’m wondering what language people would recommend to focus on more in depth in terms of developing plugins for wordpress. Maybe someone could compare and contrast the benifits of each. I’m also leaning more toward javascript right now as there appears to be more of a demand in the job market. Thanks.

  • It is impossible to make a working WordPress plugin without PHP.

Once you know the basics of how a coding language works, you can pick up the rest. PHP is highly used online, especially for open source projects. And you can’t run WP without it 🙂
