PHP error post-install

    I’ve just installed the plugin, and am now getting this error on all the site’s admin pages:

    Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /srv/www/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/content-cards/content-cards.php on line 724

    The plugin still works, and the error isn’t visible on the non-admin pages. Is there any way I can get rid of it?

    It’s PHP 5.5.14

    Update: upgraded PHP to 5.6.34, error still present. OS is OpenSuSE Leap 42.2, in case that helps.
