If you search for my site in Google, there is always a strange “%” sign that shows up after the domain name. My hosting and domain site companies say it is linked to something in WordPress. Has anyone seen this before and does anyone know how to fix it? This has been the site’s appearance for some time, but none of my attempts to find a way to fix it have worked.

Your site has this in its header:

    <title>Reclaiming Kin %</title>

What do you have in SETTINGS->GENERAL for the site name and description?

I also see you’re using Yoast SEO so check its settings to see if you’re setting it there. If there’s no % in SETTINGS->GENERAL, I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/#new-post so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

I’m going to check right now, thanks for that fast response. Let me look. Would this be something I could just quickly delete (from the title header), or would that break something?

IF it’s there (i.e., you “fat fingered” the title when you set up the site) just go ahead and remove it. Google will catch up in a week or so.

So Settings General just has the site name, no question mark.

Yoast had no % sign under Settings, General

Look in your Yoast settings, or ask them as I noted above.

Yes, it’s been added in the Yoast settings for the page title and the twitter title for that page: https://snipboard.io/sBCWHu.jpg

Yoast has no % sign in the box under Settings.

    Hi,

I had the same issue as you, and I was using Yoast SEO.

To solve it, first go to your pages, edit the main one, and scroll down. Open Yoast’s drop down and edit the metadatas. I had the “%” right here, at the end of the Meta Title.

    Hope it solved your issue.

Thank you! That finally fixed it! Appreciate it greatly.
