Is there interest in integrating with the popular profile system PeepSo? If added I’d be happy to share within the community. As for implementation, perhaps it could be done similar to Ultimate Member?

PeepSo makes it easy to create simple text custom fields that have validation and only show on user registration. Albeit validation rules are simple such as length, and required.
