To get an idea of how your site is configured, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status, as exemplified here? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.
And one additional question: does the Braintree gateway use Soap client? (Which is not enabled on our server.)
Could you please elaborate further on what is the specific reason for not having it enabled currently?
