    Hi John,

In the Redirection plugin, I placed an exact URL match at priority zero in group called ‘Ungrouped’, and a broad keyword pattern set at priority one in a group called ‘Fashion’.

Despite this, the pattern still triggers and catches the URL.

I verified the exact match and cleared caches, yet the pattern still overrides?

Could you help me understand why the exact match isn’t taking priority?

    Many Thanks 🙂

Do you have any more details? It’s quite hard to say.

    Hi John,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly, appriciated.

I have a specific URL, for example, “/jw-pei-handbags/,” which I want to handle with an exact match redirect set at priority zero, targeting itself.

I also have a broad pattern at priority one in the same group, catching keywords like “handbags,” which should redirect to “/category/fashion.”

Despite the exact match set first, the pattern still catches the URL. I cleared caches, tested with no other groups or redirects, and simplified the setup.

Could you help me understand why the exact match isn’t taking priority?
