Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘clone’ (T_CLONE)

    Hi,
    We’re getting the error below when we attempt to log into admin or access any admin pages.
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘clone’ (T_CLONE) in /homepages/XXXXX/XXXXX/XXXXX/wp-content/plugins/multipay/settings.php on line 157

    I got in by renaming the plugin folder but when I reactivate it the issue returns.
    I removed the plugin and reinstalled but get the same issue with following message in admin:
    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘clone’ (T_CLONE) in /homepages/XXXXX/XXXXX/XXXXX/wp-content/plugins/multipay/settings.php on line 157

    WordPress 5 – although the issue was first spotted in 4.9.8 prior to the upgrade.

    Any ideas?

    Can you please confirm the version number of the plugin & the version of PHP you have?

    Hi etalented,

    WordPress version 5.0.2
    MultiPay version 1.4.1
    PHP version 5.6.39

    …ugraded PHP to 7.2 issue still the same.

    Disabled, ‘Popup with fancybox’ plugin then was able to activate MultiPay.

    Now reactivated ‘Popup with fancybox’ and all fine.

    Im happy to know that MultiPay is now working for you. However, you did identify an underlying issue that we have now fixed in version 1.4.2 so please do update!
