The Select2 shows you the most matching posts given your typing.
If you have this 3 posts (in the creation order, top the oldes, bottom the newewst):
One
Latest
Latest One
And then you begin to Type “Lat”
It will show:

Latest One
One
And I think that is good, the typing field shoould return your search, and not mess it with a custom order (as date of creation as example)
Is it possible to order it with date (ex. with custom snippet)? See, i have a website for the local newspaper, they have general post type for news articles and the one custom post type for issues. And they assigning news articles to the particular issues. And all issues has titles just like #133 – 2016, #134 – 2016 … , then – #133 – 2015, … #133 – 2008 – so there a lot of similar titles. And before, when I typed ‘133’ it was starting from latest issues, but now it is showing 2007, 2014, 2009, 2016 – totally random.

I can not provide such a snippet here as we do not have any public API for that kind of manipulation of our Plugin.
This would require elaborate Custom Code.
