    Hi,

I believe I found a conflict with the new version of Page Builder by Site Origin and Easy Testimonials. All was working fine until the recent versions so I don’t know which is the issue.

If you have the content filter checked and have a random testimonial (widget or shortcode) on the page, the page sends a 500 error. Page Builder is 2.5.2. Easy Testimonials is 2.2.3

If I uncheck the content filter, then it seems to work fine.

Here is the live site with content filter unchecked:

    https://allweathertite.com/snow-and-ice-dam-removal/
    https://allweathertite.com/client-testimonials/

Here is a test site with the content filter checked (which I’ve always used and never had an issue). All else is the same:

    https://em.masterfulmktg.com/client-testimonials/
    https://em.masterfulmktg.com/snow-and-ice-dam-removal/

On another website, same plugin configuration, I didn’t get a 500 error but I did get the strange occurrence of the easy testimonial custom post type widget containing all the content in the page over and over again, which may indicate why it generated a 500 error as it never seemed to stop recurring.

If you want an admin account on the test site, let me know.

    Thanks,
    Debra

@richardgabriel I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

    Hey @riomurphy!

    Thanks for this report.

There is an issue – Pagebuilder is applying the content filter in a way that is causing a recursion issue with our plugin. On some sites this would show as a 500 error, an endlessly loading page, or content within content.

Unchecking the Apply the Content filter box is the fix for this situation. Inside our plugin we have logic specifically to check for Pagebuilder and, if its active, to disable their content filter before running ours. It sounds like in their recent update things changed so that our fix no longer works. We will address this in a coming patch, but in the meantime unchecking the Apply the Content filter box should keep things running for you!

    All the best,
    Richard

    Hi Richard,

Thanks for the update. Yes I saw all three types of errors 🙂 Glad unchecking the box works.

    Cheers!
    Debra
