You can change the order of the markers by drag&drop, in the map edit screen, in the list of added markers.

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately I cannot find those drag&drop option in the list of markers. I use Other Data Sources to populate the markers using custom post type and meta fields.
In that case the markers load in date order. You will need to edit the date of your post type entries, to have the order you need. That will be the only solution. Edit the entries that correspond to those markers and set a higher date or lower date, check which one will work.
