Hello,
Shortcodes should only be generated through the apposite management interface in the wp-admin section of VikRentCar. Alternatively, you can use the native block for Gutenberg to create a new VikRentCar Shortcode that will be automatically added to a website page, but you should not generate or copy a Shortcode string and use it on a post/page, because if the Shortcode record was not saved on the database tables of VikRentCar, then it will not work. This is why we suggest using the apposite wp-admin interface of VikRentCar to create Shortcodes and to add them to your website pages.

Hi,
We are not sure to have understood what kind of content you are referring to, if you’ve seen it on a screen shot or on the official demo website, but the “Search Form” is a type of Shortcode which is also available as a Widget/Block that is usually published in the home page. The “Search Form”, Shortcode and Widget/Block, allows users to start the booking process by selecting the rental dates, and eventually by choosing the locations for pick up and drop off, as well as an optional category of vehicles. However, car types and models will only be available in the search results, which is not a Shortcode, but it’s rather the first step of the booking process where users will land to after choosing the rental dates.
Please notice that the booking process can also be started from other pages/contents, such as the Shortcode “General Availability” or the frequently used “Cars List” or “Car Details”.
We hope this helps!

I remember that I place the first time and it was showing City/Location, now it doesn’t, why is that?
You should probably check the page “Global – Configuration” in VikRentCar to make sure the setting for choosing the locations is enabled. Also, your widget/block or Shortcode may allow you to override the global configuration setting, and so you should make sure choosing the locations for pickup/drop off is enabled.
Thanks for your time, but I went one by one of the SETTINGS, and I couldn’t find the option you mention, can you please provide a screenshot?
Hello Josh,
Please, first of all, check if you have correctly create a location inside the Vik Rent Car > Rental > “Pickup/Drop Off Locations”.
If you have correctly created at least one location, please, check if the “Choose Pickup Location” parameter is enabled on the Vik Rent Car > Global > Configuration > Shop and Rentals > “Choose Pickup Location”.
By enabling this parameter, you should be able to see the locations dropdown.
I hope this helps.
We remain at your disposal for any further information.
Best Regards,
