    Hello @juergenkuza

Thank you for using our plugin. I am sorry to read about your issue.

Based on your message it seems that the plugin used to work (you used to receive the codes over email) but all of a sudden they stopped.

In such cases very often the issue is not the plugin, but the email system on WordPress. Maybe you’ve updated a plugin on your website or changed some configuration that affected the email delivery?

To test email deliverability install the WP Mail SMTP plugin and run some tests.

If you cannot access the dashboard and you need to disable 2FA then you have to manually disable the plugin.

I hope the above helps and you solve your issue. Please let us know if you need more information from our end.

Chiming in to say I just had the same problem. It was working fine and now it’s not. I requested 2 codes and nothing. Manually disabled the plugin for now.

    Hello @mininewbie

As per my previous message it is highly unlikely that this is a WP 2FA plugin problem. The plugin does not “just break” you must have done some changes that affected it. I’d recommend you to run some tests. Please refer to my previous post.

Well, I did finally get the emails but hours later. Not sure why, but that’s what ended up happening.

    Hello @mininewbie

Can you please send us the headers of the email at support@wpwhitesecurity.com and reference this ticket?

From the headers we can see where the email have been and when it was sent etc.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Robert
    Deactivating the module worked.
What i need to change is my option for 2fa.
I do want to change it from mail to google auth.
    how can i do that?
If i reactivate the module, my user still is configured to mail, and that does not work…
    Any idea?
    Thank you for your assistance.
    Best

    Hi all
    Finally i could manage it.
Changed my settings after login in with deactivated plugin and then reactivated it while still logged in.

I am glad you solved the issue. Should you ever have problems with the emails again I’d recommend to install an email logging plugin so you can see a log of the emails that are being sent from your WordPress website.

If there is a delay with the emails, send us the email headers at support@wpwhitesecurity.com so we can take a look to try and spot the delay.

Thank you for using our plugin.

I’m also having issues with emails not going through. I have WP Mail SMTP set up and test emails go through fine, but WP 2FA emails are not accepted (see error from WP Mail SMTP). Any tips on troubleshooting?

EMAIL DELIVERY ERROR: the plugin WP Mail SMTP v2.6.0 logged this error during the last time it tried to send an email:

    Mailer: Other SMTP
    SMTP Error: data not accepted.
Consider running an email test after fixing it.

    Hello @leonorcastironcoding

Your issue is completely different than the ones reported above. Can you please open your own forum thread? Thank you very much for your cooperation.
