• Hi,

I’m admin for two websites and both have the proxy&vpn blocker plugin. On one site all workes as expected but on the other one I see an error in the apache logs “databasename_wp_pvb_visitor_action_log’ doesn’t exist for query …..”

Looking at the database this is correct, there is no table with that name. There is in the database of the other website.

Both website are running on the same (cloud)server and are on the same WP version.

I already deleted PVB with the “cleanup after uninstall” option selected and re-installed. I also requested a new API key as I could find the old one anywhere.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Maurice

    Hello Maurice,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

It is possible that the code to create the required table for that log was not running for a fresh install and you may have installed this (either for the first time or a fresh reinstall) after the log feature was added.

I will be pushing an update for fixes to this soon.

    Kind Regards,

I installed the plugin but the problem persists. “WordPress database error Table ‘******.wp_pvb_visitor_action_log’ doesn’t exist”.

I removed the plugin again deleting all settings and re-installed but this didn’t solve anything.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Maurice

    Hello,

This is quite strange, I just set up a completely new WordPress installation and installed the Plugin freshly, the table is created as expected, I don’t see why it could be missing for you.

I am assuming when you go to the Action Log tab under PVB settings, there is no data there on that site either.

    What is your database setup?

The error that the table doesn’t exist for the logging functionality shouldn’t affect other parts of the plugin and the proxy/vpn detection however.

    Kind Regards,

It is strange indeed as the other website that runs on the same server does have the database entries. The configuration for both WP installations is identical although they run different themes and the other one runs more plugins.

Is there some kind of problem I would run into if I export the table from the working site into the database of the non-working site (specific entries that rely on the API key or something)?

    Thanks.

It should not be a problem to export that table ‘pvb_visitor_action_log’ from the working site and import it to the db without it, but as always, be sure you have a full backup of your database before making any changes!

I will continue to look into why it may happened though.

    Kind Regards,
