The plugin is an nightmare, why? Emails with HTML? Looks good? Forget it. It never saves all inputs correctly, and nothing ever displays or sends all inputs correctly. And by never, I mean that some element is always processed or displayed incorrectly. Not to mention the repeated 403 messages saying permission is missing – to the Admin of the Site. Unbelievable!
    Hello Chad Butler
I really appreciate the work of developers like you! And it’s hardly possible that 250 other users would let themselves be carried away and give good 5-star reviews without any reason. But after more than six hours of frustration, I’ve just had enough. Sorry.

That a less than helpful review. I certainly don’t expect this to be a plugin that fits every possible scenario, and I don’t begrudge anyone a legitimate one-star review. But this provides zero help towards making the plugin better.

I wish you’d reached out when you were having these troubles. The 403 error would definitely be on the hosting side, unrelated to the plugin itself. Your host likely uses a generic (or outdated) set of rules for Mod Security. This is addressed in an FAQ in the plugin’s documentation.

This is the first anyone has noted issues with the HTML emails that I’m aware of, so I will research that and if there is a problem, it will get corrected.

I have been maintaining this plugin since it was publicly released it in 2005. It has a long track record of being responsive to reported issues and keeping up with changes in WordPress to maintain long-term compatibility. So every reported issue is researched and, if possible, a resolution is implemented.

Back again in this nightmare! Don’t try to migrate from dev. or staging. to live. You will lose hours …

i ran into a mod-sec issue with another plugin’s not saving text/html/css settings, which my hosting provider fixed…NOT a plugin issue
