This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.
If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.
Even though there’s never been a conflict with the theme or plugins before? Has something changed with WP that would make them a problem now?
I’ll try Health Check, but then what- I write comments at the site and see if they show up? Or will the missing comments show up? Sorry, this kind of problem is all new to me.

I’ve followed your directions but have no way to test but am awaiting an answer on how to test this. Sending comments from my IP works even when running my theme and all plugins. Please advise how to test.

Prior to 10/6 I’ve never had a problem with WP comments for my blog. I have them set to manually approve. However, starting the 7th comments stopped appearing in the Comments section of my admin dashboard. They don’t appear as Trash, Pending, Spam, or Approved. The only reason I know they exist is because I still get the email letting me know I have comments awaiting approval. If I log in to Admin they’re not there.
I clicked on the link in the email and got this message: Invalid Comment ID.
Nothing on my blog has changed- no new plugins, theme changes anything. Any help is appreciated.
