Needs and Extension, support helped

It was easy to make a backup of the old site and the new test site. It was easy in theory to upload the new site, except the upload kept stalling mid way through. I pinged Kwan for support and I needed to download an extension with a very similar name to what I thought I had already installed. With the extension activated the original plugin worked without stalling and amazingly this one file migrated one site from the test server to the live domain. Great stuff. Beware to make a note of the new admin login password else your site will be in the hands of the developer.
