While investigating a momentary internal server error whenever changes in Appearance > Customizer page are saved/published, I found the following 500 errors on the server log (only one listed here; 4 others are the same):

    35.213.164.210 <domain-name> – [06/May/2025:07:25:58 +0000] “GET /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/src/resources/css/customizer-views-v2-controls.css HTTP/1.1” 500 86 “-” “-” | TLSv1.3 | 37.680 37.687 37.687 MISS 0 NC:000000 UP:SKIP_CACHE_EXPIRED cdnreq

On the frontend of the site, the events page looks fine; no errors, not even in debug mode. Unsure if this has anything to do with the internal server error that I was investigating.

    Assistance appreciated.
    My environment:

    The Events Calendar: Version 6.11.2.1
    WordPress ver 6.8.1
    All plugins: updated
    PHP: 8.4.
    Host: Siteground Cloud

    Hi @gurdipsk ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

It looks like you’ve shared a sample of your web server requests log here that returned a 500 error. To help us get a better glimpse into the issue, would you be able to share the full stack trace of the error from your PHP error logs or WordPresss debug log?

Hi, the web server requests log was provided by the hosting technician. I looked thro the PHP error logs on my site’s server but do not see any record for the plugin.

Last night I deactivated The Events Calendar and the internal server error that was seen when changes were saved in Appearance > Customizer page ceased. The plugin was causing the issue and I thought the two issues were unrelated.

Does the above info shed any light on why the plugin caused the 500 errors?

    Hi @gurdipsk

Unfortunately, we’re unable to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue without additional details or error logs. In our experience, this type of issue is often related to a plugin or theme conflict. In some cases, it can also be triggered by outdated plugin versions on the site.

If you’re able to provide more information or specific steps to reproduce the issue, we’d be happy to take a closer look.

    Hi, noted and I understand.

For the moment, I have removed the plugin from the loive site. When I have a moment, I will test it out again on the clone. Will update you if I have anything to share.
