    I’ve followed the quick install guide, have my App ID and App Certificate, but when using the shortcode [agora-communication channel_id=”8″], the page shows the interface, but nothing happens except to show a microphone, webcam and ‘hangup’ button.

    Am I missing something?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your interest in Agora Video for WordPress!

    I tested the plugin this morning with fresh installation and I am not running into any issues.

    Please provide some more information regarding, which platform (device/OS) you are testing with? Are you able to provide any console logs? (steps to provide console logs)

    I ask for the platform, because there is a known issue on iPhone, it only works using Safari due to Apple’s restrictions within the WKWebView, so Chrome and other mobile browsers on iOS are not given access to the library required for accessing the camera.

    – Macbook Pro (13-inch, 2019) macOS Mojave 10.14.6 with
    — Safari Version 13.0.5 (14608.5.12)
    — Chrome Version 80.0.3987.149 (Official Build) (64-bit)
    – iPhone iOS 13.3.1

    None work.

    In order to better assist you with troubleshooting the error can you please post any error in the browser’s console log or if you prefer to use email, please send logs to devrel@agora.io

    Hi guys, please check out some these to make sure it is not a permissions issue, I had the same issue and this fixed it.

    @imkosmic Unfortunately without the logs we don’t know the error. The only way for us to understand the issue is to see the console logs to see error being reported by the plugin. Please post the browser’s console logs here or email them to devrel@agora.io.

    @imkosmic Thanks for sharing these logs.

    Looking at the logs a few lines stand out, from both browsers.

    These errors mean there’s an issue with access to the camera device.

    For the iOS device, this would only work in Safari. This is due to restrictions Apple has imposed that don’t allow Chrome/Firefox/Opera or any browsers, expect for Safari to support accessing the camera from a WebView. I will update the FAQ to include this.

    With regard to your Macbook not working, that is quite perplexing. I had an issue with Mojave and camera access (a bug due to the Touch Bar) but that wasn’t limited to Agora, it affected all apps that tried to access the camera and reading through the Apple forums it’s an issue that was fixed in Catalina but Apple never released a patch for Mojave.

    Are you able to share the link to your WP installation (via email) so we can troubleshoot in realtime?

    For anyone following the thread we were able to resolve the issue. To use the Agora Video for WordPress SDK you need to use a secure (HTTPS) connection. This is a requirement at the browser level to provide access.

    The errors (above) were being caused because the page being accessed was not secure.

    Hello,I have the same problem, I run the plug in in a ssl website, I followed instructions and created App ID and App Certificate but I get the error in consolle:

    The error is caused when attempting use an AppID that requires tokens, but when joining the channel no token was passed.

    Please ensure that you are using v1.5 of the plugin, and that your App Certificate is set within your Agora WordPress Settings page.
