    Hi

    I just need some clarification on the plugin.

    I’m working on a WPML project which runs subsites in the subdirectory mode. e.g. yourdomain.com/subsite-1

    To visitors the site will look and behave like one website. Therefore, I need the cookie banner to only appear whatever site or subsite they visit. But once the banner is accepted it does not appear on any other subsite or root site.

    Is this possible with the free version of the plugin?

    Yes, this is possible. Please install this version of the plugin, which contains a slight optimization for this functionality: https://we.tl/t-uKA00aXrO8

    Upon installing the plugin with the link above, you can place the below MU Plugin in the folder /wp-content/mu-plugins/ to force the consent cookies to the root domain. https://github.com/Really-Simple-Plugins/complianz-integrations/blob/master/force-cookies-on-root.php

    Thanks for replying.

    I’ve uninstalled the original plugin and manually installed the one you sent me the link for; plus created the MU Plugin.

    However, it does not seem to work as expected.

    Accepting the cookie banner on a subsite, then going to the root site the banner still pops up, and vice versa. It appears to work correctly when moving between the subsite though.

    Checking the cookies it looks like the MU Plugin is doing its job of setting the path to root (\), so I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong.

    What should the plugin setup settings be?

    Should the plugin be network activated, then setup at the root only, or each subsite? Is there a setting I’m missing?

    Hi @castoruk,

    Sorry to hear that didn’t quite do the trick yet. You shouldn’t need to set other settings upon installation of the adapted plugin version & uploading the MU Plugin.

    I will refer this to the lead developer for further investigation, so I hope to be able to provide you with an update soon.

    Thanks @jarnovos, that is working now.

    Will this change be merged in with the main version of the plugin at any point in the future?

    Thank you for confirming!

    Yes, this will be merged in the main plugin after our final tests, so you can safely update without losing the changes.
