    Hello everyone,

At the moment I only have one branch of my company on my website. In the near future I want to start a different branch with my company, this should actually have a separate website.

Is it possible to run all this through one website? So people end up on my website and then get the choice whether they go for the “media” side or the “photography” side. In principle, I think the current theme is super beautiful, but if it does not have that certain functionality, I will probably have to switch to a different theme? what should I look for?

I hope I explained the story a little bit clearly.

  • A possible solution: WordPress multisite

You could then create two different websites using the same theme.

It takes fairly advanced developer skills to set up a multisite.

Here’s a tutorial that walks you through setting up a multisite.

Thanks for your help. that could be a solution. But i am also thinking, shouldn’t be there an easier way to enabli this? Maybe a them that enables a visitor to choose between the two sides of an website?

@linux-garage Please do not send anyone to your site that way, it can be easily misconstrued.

Actually, a multisite might not be the best solution.

I’ve read that WordPress cannot search two databases at the same time.

If this is true, and you used multisite, it means the photography branch and the media branch of your company would need to be searched separately for the same item. (Probably not a good idea.)

    Another solution:

Home page has links to (1) a photography landing page, and (2) a media landing page. Each landing page acts like the home page of a company branch.

    Hope this makes sense.

Thank you! i will try something out. Maybe i’m gonna try another theme.

    Thanks for the help!

I’ve noticed you took your website down.

I was impressed. I thought it looked good.

Why do you need another theme ?

It should not be that difficult to make one website appear to have two (or more) branches.
