• I’ve been using the plugin over a month now and generally happy. you helped out with my initial setup.

I have 20,000 images and i bulk upload a few hundred at a time and now nearly all are uploaded. i think it probably costs $50 to upload the whole lot once cloudflare charge me.

however something very odd happened to quite a lot of my images a few days ago and they now appear to be missing either in some thumbnail sizes or because they might have somehowbeen renamed (eg with a scaled suffix).

locally i can edit what appear to be a blank image in wordpress. if i change the size or maybe rotate it then unrotate it and save it seems to create the image fine.

but this will not get synced to Cloudflare i beleive? So I just see it for me but users can’t see it.

i’e tried regenerating thumbnails and clearing caches, all that sort of thing.

i’m nod quite sure what to do next.

Can you confirm that eidting an existing local wordpress file will sync to cloudflare?

or should i delete every thing and start again (i’m happy to do that but to do it repeatedly is soon going to cost quite a bit of money)

    thank you!

    Hi @the5krunner,

Sorry, the update is a known bug. It’s fixed in the upcoming version. You can grab the beta from this link if you want to update sooner: https://github.com/av3nger/cf-images/releases/tag/1.9.6-beta.1

    thank you

i have a massive problem. as over 20000 image thumbnails are orphoned, in over 3000 posts

the broken images probably will have a negative SEO impact.

will your fix adopt the orphons or must i do it manually. this will likely take me over a week? I’ve already spent over a day just trying to understand the problem, regenerating thumbnails (obvisouly didnt work) and so on.

1 At least now i know where the problem is i suppose?

2 might there be a way to trick the plugin to pick up orphons by iterating thumbnail size changes?

    3. why is the html being changed on the server? these should point to the master. as an administrator i look at the server posts when editing and the thumbnails on my server, these are likely different to the thumbnails on CF.

    @the5krunner,

I’m not sure I understand. You mentioned that you have 20,000 images in total. If you’ve offloaded them to Cloudflare, they are not orphaned. And nothing is broken. The absolute worst case scenario is that an edited image is not updated on Cloudflare and users see the original. I think you are over exaggerating the issue. You can easily bulk remove and bulk offload all the images if you are worried – Cloudflare does not charge for uploads (ref: https://developers.cloudflare.com/images/pricing/). And you should also not be mass editing images on WordPress, you’re just wasting storage this way.

i dont think i’m explaining the problem, whihc is very significant (I can’t think of a scalable solution), here is an example: take this post: https://the5krunner.com/2025/10/06/garmin-and-amazfit-win-at-utmb-2025/

it should link to this file which has been mysteriously altered in the wordpress database: https://the5krunner.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Capture-2.png . it’s listed but several thumbnail sizes are missing and the name appears corrupted/changed.

    the html links to this file: class=”size-large wp-image-84003″ src=”https://the5krunner.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Capture-2-1024×520.png” alt=”” width=”1024″ height=”520″

i’ve tried to paste some imaegs here showing the issue, they dont seem to appear

@the5krunner , oh, I though you were saying that the files were not being changed on the Cloudflare side. This is not coming from my plugin. The plugin does not make changes to the local file system. So you need to find what is.

    Hello,

I am also facing a issue i have total 70020 images in my media library and i already offloaded all the images to CF but plugin and CF is showing Images offloaded: 70020, Images on Cloudflare: 44825 and when i click on Bulk Off load it says “No new images to process”.

Additionally, i want to remove all images from my library i want to use only CF images so in experimental tab i enabled a feature Full offload and click on bulk delete this option has removed 5000 images but not reflecting in media library.

Please help to resolve this issue.
