Hi @anniesc01
Please check the General settings from the Admin Dashboard. Make sure that WordPress Address (URL) is same as your current server.
Also, please check the Plugin settings page. There is a field named Site Address (URL) if it is filled and points to the old server then either you need to update it with the current/latest server URL or leave the field empty to use the WordPress Address (URL).
Please let me know if you have any question.
Thanks & Regards,
Sami
Hi thanks,
As the site reverts back to the previous server (Development server) I cannot go into the backend and check anything. I have pushed everything onto the staging server now but both from end and backend reverts back to the development server.
I had left the Site Address (URL) in the plugin settings emty.
Should I have changed the actual wordpress url settings before migrating? Or changed the Define Site Address url in the plugin to the new staging url?
I had hoped to make migrating seemless but I still have exactly the sam problems I had before. I’m probably doing something wrong
Please help as I will have to do this process every month for the next year… as this site will undergo major changes every month
Thanks in advance
Annie
Hi Annie
How are you migrating from development server to the staging server? Which Hosting server are you using for your site?
Can you add a print on any page where you can print the WordPress Address (URL) and then deploy the site to the staging server. In this way, you can verify the WordPress Address (URL) on the staging site
I think, you need to change/update the WordPress Address (URL) with the Staging URL before you push. Mostly, this is something that is handled by the Hosting servers but it depends where your site is located at.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks & Regards,
Sami
Hi,
Thanks I probably just need to change the site url before pushing the site to new server.
Thanks for you help
After that once it is on new server the plugin should take care of the rest. Right?
@anniesc01 It should take of the rest if you set the correct staging URL before pushing the site.
