This is possible. If you go to the menu edit screen, you’ll see there’s a section called Menu Layout where you can drag and drop your different menu sections into either the first or second column. It looks like this:

Thank you. Yes, I saw those settings. I was wondering if there was a way to make 1 section have two columns. If you look at the menu, the Gourmet Sandwiches is a long list. It would be nice to have 2 columns.
There’s no way to do that. The menu as a whole can have two columns, but you can’t break a single section into two columns.
Our web page has multiple menu sections. I would like the first section to span two columns. (Like a table spans two columns.) I would like the remaining sections to be the standard one column wide. Right now, everything is one column. Perfect! But I cannot force CSS to make that first section two columns wide. Is it possible?
